Our team is comprised of the best and brightest from every field but their dazzling personalities are what really makes Kiip the amazing company that it is. That’s why every month we like to profile a Kiiper so the world can know just how awesome our team is.
In this edition of Meet a Kiiper we chatted with Kabir Mathur. Kabir is our “Apps Guy” and our in-house food expert.
When did you start working at Kiip?
In October, 2014
What do you do?
I lead the Business Development team at Kiip. We’re the guys responsible for bringing on new apps to the Kiip network.
What do you love most about working at Kiip?
I like how nimble we are as company. As a Kiiper, if you notice an opportunity to enhance the Kiip product or to partner with an interesting company that can improve Kiip’s position in the market, you have flexibility to do it.
What is your favorite project that you’ve worked on – or – what was a benchmark that was reached that you were particularly proud of?
There have been many! One that comes to mind is working on making our data reliable and accessible to the entire company. I know my efforts were successful because a lot of my colleagues now use Looker (our data analysis tool) to help make data-driven decisions.
AppAnnie is a really useful and free resource that anyone working with apps should use. I use Feedly to aggregate RSS feeds from Gamesindustry.biz, Gamasutra, Fast Company, VentureBeat and other gaming/tech blogs to stay up to date with what’s happening in the industry.
When you’re not at Kiip what are you most likely doing?
Playing soccer, eating at one of San Francisco’s many awesome restaurants or watching movies with friends. I also love the outdoors and try to go hiking or camping as often as possible.
Do you have any hidden talents?
Haha, I’m not sure about that. It’s probably not that hidden of a talent, but I do love to cook and to try new recipes. Recent culinary experiments have involved cooking pheasant and Khao Soi (a food commonly found on the streets of Burma and Thailand).
What is the first thing you do when you wake up/start your day?
Read my emails, even though I’ve read articles citing research that this isn’t the healthiest thing to do early in the morning.
What is your favorite food?
I’m really biased towards Asian foods! I love how flavorful dishes from this region are. It’s really hard to pick a favorite, but if I had to, it’d be a noodle dish or some sort.
What is your favorite song right now?
I enjoy listening to psy trance and recently rediscovered a track that I haven’t heard in ages. It’s called Silver Trip by Sim1 feat. Triptych.
